Tempting Rosie consists of lead vocalist Matt Doyle, rapper Tijhs Jordan, guitarist Jon Brown, bassist Ben Torrens, drummer Ashley Bunn, trumpeters and backing vocalist Ewan Whyte and Laurence Taylor, and trombone player Josh Wilkinson.
They are an ska-reggae pop group from Birmingham, UK, who formed in 2009, and who have already played with some remarkable acts which include: the Scarlet Harlots, The King Blues, Kid British, Tinchy Stryder, The Holloways, Imperial Leisure, Ash, Badly Drawn Boy, Pama International, the Youngblood Brass Band, and many others. And to the band’s delight, they have also been highly commended by Reel Big Fish!
Tempting Rosie are renowned for getting a party atmosphere going; trumpet waving and energetic dancing is mandatory at their gigs, and their songs are extremely catchy.
Their shows are proving to be so popular in The Midlands due to the band’s fresh and unique sound; Tempting Rosie are something different.
Most of their tracks, in particularly This Young Love and Old Fashioned Mistakes take you back to a bygone era, and you can definitely hear the dubstep influences in songs such as Fagin and Fear. I’m Attracted has an indie edge to it that could make it comparable to Arctic Monkeys and The Enemy, whilst Office Floors and And The Brass Go! have more of a big band feel to them.
Tempting Rosie’s self-titled album can be bought off their website at www.temptingrosie.com.
Tempting Rosie will be playing at One Beat Sunday festival at the Midlands Art Centre’s outdoor arena on Sunday 22nd July 2012, in Birmingham. For more information, please visit: www.macarts.co.uk/event/one-beat-sunday
