The xx

The xx recently played on Conan debuting their new song “Angles” from their sophomore album Coexist. And true to their word, The xx are the type of band that you don’t just call a ‘hype’; you wait for that new album that has been in production for some time – to be relished with a haunting trans-portal result of Jamie Smith’s edge splintering production who is also one of the masterminds behind there unmatchable sound. He never ceases to amaze me with his precise triumph to cutting these tracks just in time to make you want more, to make you breath in the almost spiritual uprising that The xx seems to embody. From the sound of this new material, we can expect this trio to be on their highest authority, with taking a glance we can assume that they have conceptualized their track-list into one word answers. Or have The xx found their new niche? A new calling perhaps.

They don’t stop with just a public television appearance, but they are staging a three-day album launch show in London’s Shepherds Bush Empire, Cardiff Coal Exchange and Edinburgh’s Usher Hall on the 10th, 11th and 12th of September this year.

Coexist will be released on September 11th via Young Turks.
