Blur to perform 2 new songs on Twitter
Last week Blur teased fans by posting hints on new songs on Twitter. The Puritan and Under The Westway were written for band’s upcoming gig at Hyde Park on August 12 and have been performed earlier this year.
Blur now have revealed what teasers are all about. The band is going to perform both songs on July 2 “somewhere in London on a rooftop” and it will be streaming on Twitter. Under The Westway will be on air at 6:15pm BST, while The Puritan will go live at 7:15pm BST. All streams will be available at @blurofficial.
According to NME, both songs will then be immediately available for download, and then be released as a limited edition double A-side 7″ single on August 6 via Parlophone. There will also be an interview right after Blur perform the first song.
Bassist Alex James reveals the new message from Blur in a video. You can watch it below. He hints that band’s performance at Hyde Park for Olympics Closing Ceremony may be the end of band’s history or a beginning of something new.
