It’s been two months since Blur played in London’s Hyde Park at the closing concert of this year’s summer Olympics. The band had mentioned several times that this show would most probably be their last show ever, but, as we know, Blur’s reunion and split-up are too controversial topics to talk about and make easy assumptions.

Last week Blur was confirmed to headline Rock Werchter festival in Belgium in 2013, and band’s post on their official Facebook page hinted that it wouldn’t be their only show next year: “Thank you for waiting… Rock Werchter is about to announce that Blur will headline next July. We’re excited.. hope to travel in 2013 to play to more of our lovely fans who we haven’t seen for a while. Don’t know where yet, we’ll tell as soon as we do.. Stand by..”

We didn’t need to stand by for long. On October 8 the band announced they’ll be playing at Primavera Sound twin festivals next year in Barcelona, Spain, on May 24 and Porto, Portugal, on May 31, respectively.

Blur is yet the only band confirmed for Primavera Sound 2013. Meanwhile, Rock Werchter confirmed just one other band aside from Blur – Rammstein.
