Blur to release Parklive on December 3
The long-awaited release of Blur’s Parklive is finally shaping up. The British band played an Olympics closing ceremony concert in London’s Hyde Park this summer, and the recorded show was to be released.. somehow. But every release is a celebration for Blur, isn’t it?
Parklive is due out on December 3 through Parlophone. The deluxe edition is a one big slice of happiness for fans: 5 CDs and a DVD. The Hyde Park show was filmed using 12 cameras in total, with Matthew Amos directing. It will be presented both in audio and video formats, on double-CD and a DVD respectively. Deluxe edition will also include band’s show at London’s 100 Club (and will be simply called Blur – Live At The 100 Club), as well as some other live recordings from this summer gigs, along with the two new songs from Blur, Under The Westway and The Puritan, that the band performed live on a roof in London and streamed via Twitter. Sessions from Wolverhempton and BBC Radio Maida Vale will also be present in deluxe package, along with a 60-page book with exclusive photos from Hyde Park and 100 Club.
Parklive is already available for pre-order here.
Though Blur once hinted that their Hyde Park show might be the last one in band’s history, later in October they confirmed three festival appearances in 2013 – Rock Werchter and twin Primavera Sound festivals, – which gives us ground to hope for maybe more new recordings from the band in future.
