Brian Eno

English producer and singer-songwriter Brian Eno is going to release a new album this year. Entitled Lux, this will mark his first solo album in last seven years.

Lux is a 75-minute record consisting of 4 tracks, each nearly 20 minute long and titled simply LUX 1, LUX 2, LUX 3 and LUX 4. According to musician, this album’s theme in general will resemble his 1978 record Music For Films and Music For Airports, as well as1983’s Appolo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks. That is to say, the album will be experimental, with ambient sound and feel, and will be sort of a logical continuation to his Music For Thinking project. The latter involves Discreet Music (1975) and Neroli (1993).

Lux is due out on November 12 (and 13 in US) on CD and as a digital download and on December 11 and 12 on vinyl through Warp Records.
