Could Blur write a soundtrack?

Damon Albarn

Damon Albarn gives more insight into Blur’s future. Kind of. He’s, of course, unsure as ever about what’s coming next for Blur. The band will be playing for Olympics Closing Ceremony Celebration concert this Sunday, August 12, and speaking to The Sun Damon Albarn confessed that it would be the last time we hear from them for a while: “Hyde Park is definitely our last gig in this country this year and probably for a long time.”

Rumours about new music from Blur and recording sessions never died out, really. Damon Albarn reveals a new area he’d like to take Blur to. It’s soundtracks. Yes, that’s right, music for a film. Assuring that this is not the end of Blur Damon Albarn adds: “If someone wanted us to do an album for a film I’d definitely be interested in something like that. So that’s the offer.”

Blur are headlining Olympics Closing Ceremony Celebration concert. New Order and The Specials are also set to play for the event.

Blur released their massive Blur 21 box set on July 30, to celebrate the 21st anniversary of their debut album Leisure.  It pretty much wraps up band’s discography and contains various CDs, DVD and vinyls.
