Happy Mondays to reform in their original line-up
In an interview for BBC Radio 5 live, Rowetta Satchell of Happy Mondays confirmed that the band is reuniting in its original line-up. Happy Mondays have already reunited twice, but not everyone from band’s original line-up joined then. Specifically, one of Ryder brothers, Paul, refused to join, stating that he’d never play with his brother Shaun again.
Happy Mondays will play a tour in May. They’ve scheduled shows in Manchester, London, Newcastle, Birmingham, Glasgow, Bournemouth, Sheffield, Leeds and Dublin.
Last time the band had played with all original members was back in 1992. This is yet another Madshester band reunion: The Stone Roses is also going to play shows this year, and reunited Inspiral Carpets will support Happy Mondays during their tour.
