Krzysztof Penderecki / Jonny Greenwood album
Jonny Greenwood shed some light on his collaboration with famous Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki.
The news of Radiohead guitarist releasing a collaborative album with Polish composer came in September of 2011, and now it’s already known that the LP is due out on March 13 via Nonesuch Records. You may pre-order it from label’s official web store.
The LP consists of two parts: first features Penderecki’s works from 1960s, Polymorphia and Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima, and the second part includes Greenwood’s Popcorn Superhet Receiver, inspired by Penderecki’s Threnody, and 48 Responses to Polymorphia, inspired by Polymorphia, correspondingly.
Bits from Popcorn Superhet Receiver were used in the score for a Paul Thomas Anderson movie, There Will Be Blood. The OST was also composed by Jonny Greenwood.
