My Bloody Valentine are working on new material

My Bloody Valentine
As if trying to gain attention right before the upcoming album re-issues, My Bloody Valentine hint that they might be presenting some new material soon. In his recent interview for Pitchfork, Kevin Shields of My Bloody Valentine admitted that the band are currently working on new album.
“I’m just finishing a record that I had started in the 90s. It was going to be, like, the next record”, confessed Kevin, “But it was already after the band had half split up, and me and Bilinda were left. Then we got back together. We never broke up, technically; I left the band for legal reasons once, I had to. But other than that, I’ve always said that we were going to make a record again. You never know, we might finish it really quickly, and it might be up in a few months! I tend to work really quickly, suddenly, and I might be willing to do that right now. We’ll see!”
When asked whether all the band members are working on new album, Shields replied positively. It doesn’t mean, however, that they promise to finish the recording and finally have a new release after more than 20 years of silence. But that’s quite a lot for fans who were more than happy to get their hands on re-issues and exclusive earlier unreleased material in nearest future. Now they have something even bigger to wait for.
As we’ve reported earlier, the remastered versions of their two and only studio albums, Isn’t Anything (1988) and Loveless (1991), as well as a compilation of all their EPs, are coming out on May 7.
