Pendulum split up

Unlike some bands of nearly 10 years that are busy releasing surprise recordings in celebration of their 10th anniversary, Pendulum announce they’re splitting up. The news about Australian band’s split-up came from band founder Rob Swire’s Twitter profile that currently says: “There will be no further Pendulum live shows. There are no current plans for a new album in 2013.”

Earlier this year the band had announced they’ve decided to take a break from live performances and were thankful for all the support from fans, but hinted that there could be a new recording in 2013. Apparently, Rob’s recent profile update on Twitter takes that one last hope away, too. Rob is currently busy with another band of his, Knife Party, with Pendulum band-mate Gareth McGrillen.

There is a chance, though, that two other members of Pendulum, Paul “El Hornet” Harding and Ben “The Verse” Mount will still perform under name “Pendulum” when playing DJ sets.

During 10 years of their career, Pendulum released three studio albums, with the latest being Immersion in 2010.
