Primavera Sound

Organizers of San Miguel Primavera Sound music festival added a bunch of names to the list of this year’s participants, thus finalizing the complete line-up for 2012 event. Acts added to the bill include The Rapture, Rufus Wainwright, The Chameleons, the Pop Group an many more. The Cure, Bjork, Death Cab For Cutie, The Drums, Franz Ferdinand, Wilco and The xx and others were confirmed earlier.

This year’s event will feature a supergroup consisting of musicians from different well known bands that will play songs from Big Star’s 1978 album “Third”. The supergroup consists of Jody Stephens from Big Star, Mike Mills of R.E.M., Chris Stamey from The dB’s, Ken Stringfellow of Posies, R.E.M. producer Mitch Easter, Brett Harris, as well as other guest musicians.

The festival will take place in Barcelona from May 30 till June 3. This year Primavera Sound will also have two event days of free in Arc del Triomf: on May 30 and June 2. For more details, visit band’s official website at primaverasound.com.
