Eyes Lips Eyes offer Tickle for free download, a track from their new EP, What You Want (If You Want), released on August 21 by Roll Call Records/ILG.
The Los Angeles based 4 piece band, who are being deemed MTV Buzzworthy, but come on, you can decide for yourselves. A form-fitting party eccentric psychedelic funk riddled song. Leading with the high strings of the guitar played on a repeated tune, it will make you want to jump from one moment to the next. The slick super cut of the bass line sharpens the song towards a playful, LCD Soundsystem lyrical base. Just the type of tune that is not only correspondent to the middle/end of summer but getting in those few last hip-shakings for those smooth moves.
They have recently unveiled another track from the EP, Don’t Blow It. Imagine if all the dj’s you’ve heard spinning records had finally joined a band and started playing. Not only have Eyes Lips Eyes been on SXSW list of artists to watch for, but had even been mentioned at one point on CNN. Those news people have some good taste hiding in their linens somewhere. Although the band exploded in the midst of the party scene, don’t let that high clash of neon fool your vision. If LMFAO had any love for really creating a great song that doesn’t just try and prove you can party till you puke, then Eyes Lips Eyes has proved that you can make a great dance song without selling your brain cells for a few bucks; instead making music that captures the feeling of summer that’s ready to end and a new season waiting to begin.
The band consists of Tony Hello (vocals), Spencer Petersen (guitar, vocals), Aaron Hatch (bass, vocals) and Thomas Carroll (drums). They’re doing their thing DIY after moving to a warehouse in L.A. True to a classic punk style, do it yourself or go home. They’re not only recording and rehearsing there, but also making it their bungalow as a sweet cheery to the top of the sundae.
