Watch: Mini Mansions – Heart of Glass

Mini Mansions recent release of their B-side cover of a Blondie classic leaves more of a wanting towards the end of the video than a tribute. Instead of trying to top Blondie, they did what you couldn’t do any better; simply to put it in words… they made it their own. Released from their “Monk” single on indie label Psychedelic Judaism. You get to experience the focal point from Michael Shuman and his bathtub experience in this video. Honestly it was a combination of loss from a “heart of glass” and trust in the world all of the same. Instilled with Mardi Gras masks, colorful feathers and small toy decorations. But never did it seem out of place which makes me appreciate the breakdown he seems to have towards the end of this mental break extravaganza. Of course leaving the bath a mess but leaving you wanting to be able to express that much passion in a cover song.
And if you would like to catch Mini Mansions soon they will be playing at Café Du Nord in San Francisco on March 30.
